There’s a ballet that features the music of Black Sabbath (no, really).
Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Black Sabbath – The Ballet will take place in May at the Virginia Arts Festival. It will be the US debut before traveling to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC
“I am thrilled to bring Black Sabbath – the Ballet to Norfolk for its US premiere,” says Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal Carlos Acosta. “As a global phenomenon, BLACK SABBATH is perhaps Birmingham’s biggest cultural export and we look forward to welcoming both music and ballet fans to see the show. The response from audiences and critics in the UK has been overwhelmingly positive, so we have high hopes that the US will embrace this culture clash in the same way, I can’t wait to see the reaction.”
Set to the music of BLACK SABBATH and having its official premiere in September 2023, the ballet now comes to the US, where the group’s largest fan base exists.
