Phoenix – the construction of the Gilbert Road Bridge between Mesa and State Route 87 (Beeline Highway) has been completed, the Ministry of Transport of Maricopa reported on Monday.

All the canvases of the bridge are already open. Construction under the project began in 2023 to replace the previous bridge with two lanes and low intersection of water.

The Gilbert Road Bridge already has two sails in each direction, a new signal for the intersection of Thomas Road, a new source of storm and a 36-inch water line, which is part of the SRP water supply system.

“I am glad to announce the opening of the Gilbert Road Bridge, which will ensure that the floods will no longer affect this route, giving the inhabitants a peace of mind,” said Maricopa Head of Maricopa Galvin.

“The Gilbert Road Bridge is a vital connection in the Eastern Valley between the Indian community of Salt River Pima Maricopa, Meat, Hills Fountain, North Scotsdale and beyond. It provides a connection via state road 87 (Beeline Highway) for the effective movement of goods, services and people from the whole country, helping to ensure the strong economic position of Maricopa County. “
