Legoland has announced that it postpones nearly 100 employees in its Carlsbad park, part of the company’s broader restructuring for how it derives broadcasts and other entertainment suggestions.

The bigger part of the abbreviations documented upon compulsory submission to the California Employment Development Department are identified as contractors – 87 of a total of 97 abbreviations. Others include scenes managers, an evening manager and a production specialist.

Legoland California characterizes the reduction of staff as a way of “raising the experience of guests” and better competes in the sector of the thematic park.

“The decision to reduce the size of our entertainment team was undoubtedly difficult, but these changes will allow the resort to work easily and responsive to a competitive market,” the park said.

“We will continue to have a basic internal entertainment proposal that we will scathing to meet our brand and guest experiences throughout the year. This will include working with a global leader in this sector – which will provide employment opportunities – to enhance the provision of its entertainment during seasonal special events. “

A message about who is the new supplier will come on a later date, says in the park.

According to the WARN letter (tuning workers and retraining) sent by Legoland, the cuts must start on March 25 and continue until April 7.

A similar message was made for the Florida theme park, which will release 234 workers.

Historically, the entertainment at Legoland California is largely provided by an internal team consisting of a mixture of permanent and seasonal employees, both full and part -time, explained Julie Strasta, a spokesman for the LEGOLAND parent company, Merlin Entertainments. In the future, the other internal entertainment in the park will continue to interact with both the guests of the hotel and the park as costumed characters for meetings and greetings in the park.

Until the contract is finalized with the new external contractor of the park, these Legoland employees will serve the current staff of such broadcasts as Benny’s dance party and once a brick, Stranda said.

LEGO’s world parade this summer will be staff from the new supplier, she added. Similarly, special programming as Brick-Or-Treat during Halloween and shows during the Christmas holiday will be manufactured with the help of the new Legoland artist.

There may still be entertainment tasks for departing employees, Legoland notes in his company statement.

“We support employees during this period of change,” the statement said, “and we will do everything we can to help them find alternative employment, including sharing auditions for upcoming seasonal events in the park.”
