1 dead, several injured after wrong-way crash on Las Vegas freeway – News3LV

A fatal wrong-way crash closed northbound US 95/I-11 in east Las Vegas Friday morning.

The crash was reported about 2:52 a.m. on the highway just north of the Boulder Expressway, said Trooper Shawn Hagstrom of the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.

A vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with another car, Hagstrom said.

A passenger in the wrong vehicle, identified as an elderly woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Several others were taken to an area hospital.

No other details about the crash have been released. Haggstrom said additional information will be released after the preliminary investigation.

All northbound lanes of US 95 are closed at Boulder Freeway, along with the northbound Boulder Freeway ramp. Traffic is being diverted to the Boulder Expressway exit.

Haggstrom said the closure is expected to remain in place for several hours.
