FITCHBURG, Wis. (WMTV) – A 21-year-old Madison man was arrested after he allegedly ran from police and crashed into several cars, Fitchburg police said Sunday night.
Around 11:20 a.m. Sunday, an officer saw a car driving recklessly in the area of Fish Hatchery Road and Greenway Cross. Police said the driver ran several red lights and drove into oncoming traffic.
Police attempted to stop the driver, but he did not pull over and continued toward Madison. The driver allegedly ran another red light and crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Raymond Road and Prairie Road.
The driver was arrested at the scene of that crash and faces charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, operating after revocation, fleeing or eluding an officer, police said. The man was arrested and charged with a number of traffic violations.
The driver of the first vehicle hit was taken to hospital with possible injuries. The driver of the second vehicle hit was not injured.
The Madison Police Department assisted with the call.
