Lubbock Area United Way recognizes volunteers, celebrates giving – Yahoo! Voices

During her annual meeting event and volunteers on Monday, Lubbock Area United Way announced that the annual giving for 2024 exceeded $ 6 million.

The contribution to the organization is invested back into the Community and supports the missions of the United Way Community partners and the services they provide to households at South Plains, according to an organization’s message.

The united road acknowledged Dan Pope with the Rita Harmon Volunteer Service Award. The award has been awarded annually since 1993 in honor of deserving public service. Pope is a community volunteer, supporting United Way, serving the city of Lubbock as mayor and is active with other local organizations.

Other awards include Bill Kernow with the Plains Cooperative Cooperative Association, which was declared volunteer of the year in 2024. John Mark Bernal, with the Texas Technical University declared the volunteer of the year for the influence of the Community. Gabe Vitelle from the neighborhood centers in Guadalupe-Parqui was declared volunteer of the year of 2024 of the Community.

Other elements on the agenda include the recognition of United Way members of the 2024 board members and the introduction of the UNITED Way management, including Chad Grant as chairman of the board and Meredith Implass as chairman of the campaign. The Executive Committee in 2025 are also employees of 2025, John Mark Bernal, Vice -Chairman of the board; Brian Irlbek, cashier; Julie Mandrell, Community Chairman; Kelsi Robertson, Chairman of Marketing and Communications; and Lloyd Whetzel, chairman of the donation.

In addition, UNITED Way announced the new members of the board Bill Kernow, Morgan Doyle, Cici Nunez, Wendy Forrest, Clarissa Sanchez, Ian Spector, Matt Stepens and Katherine Wells.
