Sophomore Dai Dai Ames scored 27 points in the career, and Virginia went to a 73-57 victory over Pittsburgh on Monday night.

Ames, who entered the game, an average of 6.2 points per game, made 11 out of 16 shots with three 3-dance and two free cavalier throws (11-12, 4-8 conference on the Atlantic coast).

Blake Buchanan is 10 points and 11 fights for his second double double this season for Virginia. Andrew Rose ended with nine points and the best career nine assists. Rohde also had three of Cavaliers’ 10 3 3 indicators.

Ismail Legeth had 17 points in 7-11 shooting to lead the panthers (14-8, 5-6), adding six rebounds. Jorge Diaz Gram scored nine of the bench with three 3-indicatives.

Ishan Sharma made Virginia’s fourth 3-indicated 13 minutes, while Pete was 3 out of 12 in general to help build 24-7 leads. The cavaliers scored 17 straight points in the first half – their longest running of the season.

Ames shuddered in a jumper from the free throws to extend Virginia’s lead to 30-10 with 4:46 left at halftime. Ames made seven shots and scored 16 of the 34 points in Virginia from the first half, while Pete had only 19 points when shooting 6 out of 20. It was the most rating of Pete in the first half of the season.

The Panthers won the previous two games with Virginia after a losing series of eight games.

Virginia returns home to play Georgia Tech on Saturday when Pittsburgh plays in North Carolina.
