Southwest Airlines cancels all flights at Renault -Taho Airport because of strong winds – Reno Gazette Journal

All Southwest Airlines flights at Reno-Tahoe International Airport were canceled on Monday due to strong winds from a winter storm system.

It is expected that flights, deviations and delays are expected to continue on Monday, according to a spokesman at Renault Airport Nicole Staton.

At least 30 flights were canceled on Monday. Staton said the airport saw six deviations on Monday and six Sunday.

The big wind warning remains in force until 10:00 pm tonight, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Most flights were diverted to Los Angeles, Sacramento or San Francisco, according to FlightAware.

“Passengers must continue to check the flight status updates directly with their airline before heading to the airport,” Staton said.
