A silent film classic is screened with live improv at TAMIU – KGNS

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Get your Halloween holiday started early by watching the The Office of Dr. Caligari, considered one of the first true horror films. The silent classic will be screened at TAMIU, complete with live organ accompaniment, on Saturday, October 26, at 3:00 pm in the TAMIU Fine and Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public. Dr. Colin Campbell, University Organist and Head of Department, will perform a live improvisation on Sharkey Corrigan’s organ to bring this silent film to life.

The office of Dr. Caligari delves into themes of power, madness and the blurred line between reality and illusion – a perfect start to the Halloween weekend!
