Nearly 70 local non -profit members in the Wisconsin Community shares work on issues that interest you most, including voting rights, health food systems, criminal justice reform, home advances, LGBTQ+ rights and conservation of the environment S

Each month, the community of the Wisconsin community awards the award for the hero of the backyard of organizations and the people who make a change in our community.

Nena Sokerman is a volunteer with Sierra Club Wisconsinwhere she works behind the scenes to provide funding and administrative support. It is very reliable and always steps to help when needed. She is also kind, enjoyable for work and pleasure to be around. Thank you, Nena!

Sierra Club Wisconsin was founded in 1963 and includes over 18,000 members across the country. Inspired by the beautiful lakes, forests, rivers and other natural characteristics of Wisconsin, Sierra Club Wisconsin works to protect our communities and planet. Their victories include preventing Perier from bottles with Wisconsin’s water in 2000, stopping the Sulfid Crandon Mine in 2003 and stopping the Penokee Taconite mine in 2013.
