The British world 10,000 m trials head to Birmingham – athletics weekly

The University of Birmingham will see that athletes will fight for spots at the World Athletics Championship in 2025 in Tokyo

After the night of 10,000 m PBS has decided to take the adolescent year, on the runway of the British world in the British season will be held on the runway of the University of Birmingham (June 14).

Athletics championships in the UK at 10,000 meters, which doubles as trials for the World Athletics Championships in September in Tokyo, will see some of the best runners at a distance across the country to fight for qualification.

Traditionally, at home event, over 25 laps are held on the night of 10,000 m Pbs in Highgate, North London.

However, the popular and very loved meeting in athletics has copied Glastonbury this season, having a Uga year.

The meeting, managed by volunteers and viewer, created by Ben Gaid in 2013 to improve British racing standards, returns in two years and is expected to be bigger and better.

This meant that this year’s 10,000m internal championships needed another place, with the University of Birmingham being the preferred choice.

The university was actually hosted by the Olympic trials in Tokyo 10,000 m four years ago, with Eilish McColgan and Mark Scott securing their place on the plane, becoming national champions.

The event, which doubled like the European Cup, also saw the hope of Mo Farah to be able to defend his Olympic crown at 10,000 meters, left in disarray.

The 10-time global champion insisted that he was hindered by an ankle injury after being 27: 50.64 under the lights.

This year’s Tokyo World Cup qualification standards are 27:00 and 32:20 for men and women respectively.

The qualification period for receiving the standards, or 10,000 m, or over 10 km, is between February 25, 2024 and August 24, 2025.

These are the proposed standards for the entry of this year’s Athletics Championships in the UK 10,000 m: Championships:

Women’s Competition: 33:00

Women’s Competition B: 34:20

Men’s race: 28:45

Men’s B: 29:30 Competition
