Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Rams Odds, Expert Picks, How to Watch: A Matchup of Resurgent Squads – The New York Times

Injuries on offense and issues on defense quickly turned this season into a disappointing one for the Los Angeles Rams. Despite their struggles on both sides, they are still a touchdown favorite at home on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

That might seem like a big line for a 1-4 team, but when you consider everything going on with the Raiders right now, it definitely makes sense.

The Raiders finally traded wide receiver Davante Adams, were without Jacoby Myers last Sunday and decided to start Aidan O’Connell at quarterback. Although they were already used to playing without Adams, the trade and quarterback change likely signal that they are ready to look to the future.

The one thing that could play into the Raiders’ hands is that Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is struggling to play in the absence of top wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp. The Raiders are allowing just 186.2 passing yards per game, seventh-fewest in the NFL. They also have a healthy Max Crosby back in the lineup against a Rams offensive line that has already allowed 16 sacks in five games.

Not only are the Rams 1-4 overall this season, but they are also 1-4 against the spread. However, they had three of their bowlers hit the over. Over/under for Sunday is 43.5 points. Only one of their games this season has failed to reach that total.
