Wyoming’s future as blockchain leader hangs in balance without fair public procurement processes – Coindesk

Over the past few years, Wyoming, a legislative state in the US Mountain West, has set off on a trip to become a blockchain pioneer.

With a bold vision for creating attractive cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem, state cryptocurrencies have positioned Wyoming as the most welcoming state in the United States for blockchain companies and innovators. With the pro-crypto, the position of the Trump administration, the state has reinforced its model status on how jurisdictions can build their economies.

Wyoming’s goal to be a cryptocurrency bean is one of the reasons I choose to make it my home. My family lives in a veil, and Wyoming has become the center of my work life. I love this place, from my thriving bison ranch in Wheatland to our family’s most modern health clinic in a vest, along with hundreds of employees.

While my engagement to Wyoming is going deep, I am now concerned about the direction the state takes. The latest events surrounding Stablecoin initiative have raised serious questions about transparency and accountability in public procurement processes. If Wyoming wants to lead to blockchain – or any emerging technology – justice and discovery should be the basis of selection processes. With so much bet, I deal with this problem by building a framework that sets a standard for local leadership and serving as a model for pro-crypto policies at national level.

The promise of Wyoming Stabblein initiative

The Stablecoin initiative, announced two years ago, aimed to show how blockchain could revolutionize the finances of the state and set an example for other countries and nations. My company, the entrance production, the driving force behind the Blockchain Cardano, was proud to support this effort and actively encourage an open and democratic approach with the stable -waiming committee (WSC) and its Blockchain Working Group, which led the whole RFP supplier process.

For over 18 months, we have worked with both sides, contributing to discussions about compliance, issuance, redemption and technological standards. The goal was clear: to ensure that Wyoming’s stable initiative would succeed – not only for the state, but also as a model for the rest of the world.

Addicted process of awarding public procurement

Unfortunately, the public procurement process does not reflect Wyoming’s openness and innovation principles. Multiple aspects, including lack of transparency, technical requirements that are not aligned with the established frameworks, and the screaming biases, undermined all public procurement efforts, which led to unfair disqualification of Cardano, XRP, Bitcoin, Hashgraph and Algorand and ICP.

From the beginning, the decision -making process is held behind closed doors, without the possibility of public contribution. Without external influence, WSC and WG have essentially developed criteria that favors existing solutions, such as Ethereum or Solana, without taking into account the virtues of the more new players on the market.

Considering the above, it was no surprise that the Wyoming Stablecoin Commission always had Ethereum as their choice with number one, which makes the whole process of procurement insolvent. Videos (which you can watch Here and here) show Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon and Anthony Apollo, CEO of WSC, greatly suggest that Ethereum will be prioritized over other blockchain platforms in the offer.

At a stable meeting of the tokens Commission, Apollo explicitly stated that his personal preferences were Ethereum and Polygon. Meanwhile, State Treasurer Kurt Meyer also publicly supported Ethereum. It is worth noting that Apollo is heavily linked to Ethereum, as it is the co-founder of Consensys, the software development company supporting the growth of the ecosystem Ethereum-Fact, which only emphasizes the inherent biases among key stakeholders.

Moreover, the requirements for the technical criteria in the evaluation methodology have not been established within the existing regulatory frameworks and thus further impede the efforts of Cardano and other blockchain providers to compete for the contract. For example, although four of the five requirements for the Wyoming Stablecoin project, Cardano was disqualified as the test “freezing and seizure” of the asset was failed.

However, neither the federal provisions nor the state law of Wyoming requires the functionality of “freezing and seizing tokens.” Even with what has been said, through its intelligent contract frame, the native toleon, or even its chain functionality, can still do the fact that WG is recognized in an external email to Cardano still failed to consider S

If, after all, it is not yet convincing that WG has failed to carefully carry out and be considered a proper verification throughout the selection process and not examine the federal regulatory and technical requirements for the stable, then the comments from Karen L .

“For one year, the public meeting materials have explicitly stated that the RFP process will be open to all. However, this began as a process of transparency and inclusion, turned with an alarming turn-transmission to the selection of a closed door controlled by a subcommittee.

“Instead of encouraging fair competition, providers were arbitrarily selected based on publicly available information, without the ability to demonstrate their ability to meet key criteria. Not only does this undermine justice, but also has lost a critical opportunity for Wyoming to strengthen its leadership in Blockchain innovation. “

PAC on Wyoming Integrity

The whole process of awarding public procurement left me a bad taste and I realized that I need to directly address these disadvantages in state -sponsored processes to supply blockchain. To this end, I decided to launch the Wyoming Integrity (PAC) political action committee later this year.

This initiative aims to make more than correcting the stablecoin project errors – it is a matter of building a base for ethical governance, which provides Wyoming’s bright future as a leader in all emerging technologies, from quantum calculations to artificial intelligence.
PAC for the integrity of Wyoming is my response to these challenges. This initiative is dedicated to the reform of public procurement processes in Wyoming to ensure that they are transparent, fair and inclusive by financing candidates who support these goals. PAC will focus on three key ladder:

1 Transparency: Advocacy for open decision -making processes that include public contribution and control.

2. Justice through open cooperation: Guarantee that all innovators and businesses have the same opportunity to compete and participate regardless of their relationships or accessories

3 Ethical innovation: The establishment of Wyoming as a global example of management that supports technological progress while maintaining the highest standards of integrity. These principles are not just ideals; They are necessary. Without them, Wyoming risks losing the confidence and investment of the blockchain community and outside.

A future of leadership and trust

PAC Wyoming Integrity will focus on addressing past errors and shaping a future in which Wyoming can be distinguished in blockchain and other emerging technologies. Our goal is to create an environment in which great ideas can flourish, innovators feel welcome, and trust is a cornerstone of government. On a larger scale, I hope that PAC for the integrity of Wyoming will set an example of the Trump administration in the implementation of a fair and deliberate public procurement process for future federal cryptocurrencies.

However, this initiative is about more than just technology; It’s about people. It encompasses entrepreneurs, developers and workers who revive innovation. It is also about the residents of Wyoming who deserve to see their country to flourish as a leader in the digital economy.

I am committed to this long trip and I will not give up. Wyoming’s desire to become the central blockchain center is worth fighting for both the state and the wider industry. We can build a condition that encourages justice, innovation and opportunities for all. Let’s equalize the game conditions, allow the best ideas to emerge and can prevail the best technology.
