2025 WM Phoenix Open Preview for Betting: elections, forecasts and odds for TPC Scottsdale – Sports Illustrated

2025 WM Phoenix Open Preview for Betting: elections, forecasts and odds for TPC Scottsdale – Sports Illustrated

We were able to move away from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM with another minor profit by raising the Tom Hoge Top 20 bet on +210, but we lost both Collin Morikawa Stoget Weter and Aaron Rai Top Anglishman Bet.

It’s time to move on to WM Phoenix Open, perhaps the funniest event, which is not a mourning and non-sign on the PGA Tour calendar. The TPC Scottsdale is home to the famous 16th hole, which will again be surrounded by the strongest tribunes in golf. The event also serves as a perfect front for the Super Bowl 59 on Sunday night.

Let’s look at everything you need to know to be at this tournament, including my three best plays.

Top 15 chances to win through DraftKings Sportsbook

Scottie Scheffler: After returning from a Pebble Beach injury last week, the world # 1 will do it for the second consecutive week. Scheffler won this event in years back in 2022 and 2023 and finished T3 here last year. Expect him to be in the mixture again on Sunday at TPC Scottsdale.

Nick Taylor: The defense champion returns to defend his title after taking Charlie Hoffman in playoff last year. Taylor already has a win under his belt in 2025, winning Sony Open in January. The coefficient creators seem to have little faith in it, repeating a tournament champion, as he is given only 55-1 chances to win.

Sahith thegala +4500 via betmgm

I will take a shot at the purchase of a low Sahit Taegala, who admitted that he did not show his best things late. He has not ended inside the top 20 of the 20 players Hero World Challenge in December, but if he will turn things around, then TPC Scottsdale is the place that will do it. He underwent a heartbreaking final here in 2022 and then published an independent finale in fifth place here last year. He obviously has the game to compete at this course, but the betting market has lost faith in it based on the latest performances.

The history of his course here is too strong to not shoot him at 45-1 in a field, which he has to offer after you go past Sheffler, Justin Thomas and Hideki Matsuyama.

Rasmus Højgaard top 20 +200 via fanduel

I bought a ton of Rasmus Højgaard shares at the beginning of the season, and the Pebble Beach show showed a flash that maybe I was something. The twin of the more famous Nikolai Hoodgaard has a serious game and is ready for a breakthrough season. He won the +1.13 struck with his game for approach last week, which should lead to success in TPC Sawgrass if this level of ball strikes continues.

If he can sink a few Puts, an area where Pebble is fighting, he has a chance to argue for a top-20 place over the weekend.

Andrew Novak Top 20 +280 via fanduel

This may just be a flash in the pan, but I’m ready to bet on Andrew Novak to continue his strong game. Although he finished Solo Third in Torrey Pines and T13 of Pebble Beach, coefficients make it far on the list of odds to win this week. Although I will not be brave enough to bet on it to ask for a TPC Scottsdale win, a bet on the top-20 at +280 looks like a decent bet, especially when you think it has completed the T8 here in 2024.

Novak boasted a solid game in the four areas, winning strokes with placement, chipping, approach and driving. This is the type of game that will lead to consistent results and the one that will be the will for the course this week.

The odds are refined periodically and are subject to change.
