Tallahassee, Florida (WCTV) – “When my son died in 2018 He died after a battle with bone cancer. “I’ll tell you where I find it and it’s in you.”

For the average person, the chance of experiencing a miracle may look far or even composed. But every year at the Leon High School, the Talahassi Community celebrates several miracles: miracle children, some who had to fight every day of their lives to stay alive.

“There is nothing more good than seeing young people gathering to support other children and young people in our community and the significant medical trials they have experienced and have fun together,” says Genell Irwin, the parent of Grayson, a miracle A child. “There is nothing better.”

This is the fourth consecutive year of Leon High School hosts “Kickin” for Wonders. The Kickball tournament raises money and brings many smiles and laughter on the athletic fields of the lions.

Florida football has been involved from the beginning.

“I just meet the kids, we’ll meet the incredible people here at Leon High School and to raise money, our team just likes to do it,” says Heather Gilkrist, a FSU Soccer defender. “We look forward to it every year is probably one of our favorite events.”

“When they say they are here” kicking for miracles, “it’s a lively, breathing miracle here,” Irwin said, pointing to his son Grayson. “He should not be with us, but he is.”

Diagnosed with leukemia at only 11 months old, Grayson got a ten percent chance of survival. Today he is without nine years of cancer.

“It’s just really cool how can I show how I really am,” said Grayson Irwin.

Like many 12 -year -old boys, Grayson has his mind for one thing for this tournament.

“Win,” he said with a smile.

Eight teams, representing eight children a miracle, competed to raise money for the children’s miraculous network and dance marathon Leon. Seminols and students in the area should be involved in the fun for the Kickball tournament.

“To be able to compete and have this competitive spirit with the children and to be able to cheer everyone up, I thought it was really cool,” said Claire Rhine, a FSU Soccer defender.

“[I enjoy] Meeting them at a personal level and letting them have fun as much as they can, “Gilkrist said.

“And seeing them smile and have fun only from us that we are here and we can participate with them,” Rhine added. “It just means the world to me.”

“It is amazing to see these children be given so selflessly and want to help other children,” said Anne Lais, Einsley’s mother, another miracle child.

The year of the year, this community exceeds beyond to help these wonders continue.

“Let’s kick cancer and all these childbirth diseases on the curb,” Fisher said, talking to a group of Kickball players. “I love you guys.”

In terms of the tournament, Team Fletcher took the trophy at home with only one mileage over Team Powie.
