Green MSP welcomes more funding for free school meal – and £ 2 bus cap cap – Irvine Times

As a result of proposals submitted by the Scottish Green negotiators, the Scottish government’s budget for next year will be changed to include the deployment of a free school of thousands of more young people in the S1-3, starting from eight areas of the Council in August.

On January 1, 2026, the annual regional test of bus rates will be launched. On January 1, 2026, the locations of the two policies will be confirmed at a later date.

Other green suggestions accepted by the government include an increase in nature restoration funding to a record £ 26 million, a free ferry trip on young island of the tax on the purchase of a second/holiday homes.

Western Scotland MSP G -N -Grier said: “Scottish green have set up childhood poverty, climate and local services funding such as schools and libraries at the heart of our budget negotiations. We have made progress on all these fronts.

“No young man should sit at school hungry. As a result of our work, thousands of more students in the S1-S3 will already receive a free school.

“This is based on the expansion of universal free school dishes to the P4 and P5, which are already provided by Scottish foliage. In addition, we are taken by another step closer to our goal of any young man in North Irshire and in Scotland, as we receive Free school.

“Together, these changes, secured by Scottish green MSP, will take out more children out of poverty, reduce public transport costs, create quality jobs, cope with the climate crisis and protect local services.”

Scotland Finance Secretary Sean Robyson praised the Greens and Lib Dems for their “positive and constructive” commitment.

She added: “By searching for a compromise, I believe that we are delivering a budget that will strengthen the services and support our communities.

“With the agreements with these two countries now, this will provide a majority in parliament in support of the budget bill.”
