Cossacks split games over the weekend – Bruckings Register

Volga – The Sioux Valley Girls’ Basketball Team split a pair of games over the weekend. The Cossacks defeated Lakota Tech on Friday night and then fell to # 1, ranked on Sioux Falls Christian on Saturday night.

Sioux Valley is now 11-3 and plays in Dakota Valley on Tuesday at 6:00 pm

Friday

Sioux Valley 71, Lakota Tech 53

The Cossacks surpassed Tatanka in each of the first three quarters.

Sioux Valley led 18-14 after the first quarter and then led 35-27 leads in half. The Cossacks then surpassed Tatanka 24-10 in the third quarter and has a 59-37 lead in the fourth. Lakota Tech ahead of Sioux Valley 16-12 in the last quarter.

Sioux Valley fired 45.5% of the terrain and was 14-on-32 out of three. The Cossacks had all five starters to appreciate double numbers. Talya Vincent led the road with 18 points. Kylie Kradduk had 17 points and seven rebounds. Amari Ward had 12 points, and Keyra Kruse and Liberty Trygstad each had 10 points. Cruz had six rebounds, and Trigstad had five rebounds and seven assists.

Lakota Tech fired 35.6% of the terrain and was 6 in 24 out of three. Shania Ferguson had 26 points to lead Tatanka. Isabel Shangro had nine points, and Lizi Robinson had six points and 11 rebounds.

Sioux Valley had 31 rebounds and Lakota Tech had 26. Cossacks had 22 rpm and Tatanka had 18. Sioux Valley was 7 out of 8 on the free throw line, and Lakota Tech was 5 to 13.

Saturday

Sioux Falls Christian 60, Sioux Valley 42

A rough third quarter released the game out of the Cossacks on Saturday night.

The Capes led 10-8 after the first quarter. SFC then ahead of the Sioux Valley 17-10 in the second and led 25-20, heading for halftime. Chargers then had an advantage of 25-7 in the third and pushed the lead to 50-27 at the end of the quarter. Sioux Valley ahead of the SFC 15-10 in the final frame.

Sioux Valley fired 35.9% of the terrain and was 4-from-15 out of three. Cruz had 21 points and five fights. Trigstad had eight points and Ward had six points.

SFC fired 39% of the terrain and was 5 in 25 out of three. The charges were led by Lesley Setzer, who had 17 points and nine fights. Ruth Midchek had 14 points and eight rebounds. Avery Ritz had nine points.

Chargers had an advantage of 28-18 in struggles. Sioux Valley had 19 rpm and SFC had 15. The Cossacks were 10 to 13 on the free throw line, and the charges were 9-from-10.
