Topeka – this was another wild week of high school actions in the capital. More basketball tournaments occurred as long as the highest levels were held.

Here are the best performances in the Topeka region of January 27, 1-February.

Tuesday, January 28

Jaret Sanchez, Shawnee Heights Basketball: The senior continues to be one of the best goal scorers in UKC this season. He had 21 points with 21 points in the team win by 82-30 over Livanov.

Wednesday, January 29

Kaevon Bonner, Seaman Basketball: The point guard led the Vikings to a 73-64 victory over Topeka Hi with a team of 16 points.

Thursday, January 30

Jaxon Cowdin, Topeka High Diving: The senior won his fourth consecutive diving title in the city championship with a score of 253.15.

Kristan Marshall, Rural Wrestling in Washburn: Marshall ended with 55 seconds PIN to emphasize the victory of the jinner of the blues 54-28 over Mill Valley.

Andres Morao-Jaspe, Washburn Rural Swimming: The sophomor was the lone athlete who won every competition they competed during the city championship. Morao-Jaspe took individual titles in IM from 200 yards and 500-sided freestyle. He also helped Junior Blues win two relay, as Washburn Rural also won the team title.

Simon Rowley, Washburn’s Rural Basketball: Junior tied team 13 points when shooting 5 for 10 of the pitch along with five rebounds.

Friday, January 31st

Jaret Sanchez, Shawnee Heights Basketball: The senior led the team with 26 points in the victory of Thunderbirds 66-48 over Topeka West.

Saturday, February 1st

Brody Brown, Shauni Heights Fight: Brown went 4-0 to the Junction City kettle, winning the 138-pound division. All four victories came through a PIN in the tournament.

Easton Broxterman, Washburn Rural Wrestling: The senior won the 144-pound Division of the SHOWN North Mission Division. He had two pins and two technical falls during the tournament that saw that Washburn Rural was taking the title of the team.

Gareth Holmes, Silver Lake: Holmes won the 132-pound weight grade at Junction City’s invitation, as he went 3-0, emphasized by a 22-5 technical decline in the title match.

Jude Crenz, Hayden Borb: The senior went 4-0, all his graduates being pins in the lifestyle hosted by Baldwin High School. With his presentation, Cranz won the 175-pound division.

Daton Menzer, Sailor Fighting: Menzer won the 215-pound SEK Invitational Weight Class with two pins a day.

Tuesday, January 28

Riley Dick, Rosville Basketball: The youths scored 24 points in Rosville’s 49-40 victory over Athison County in the quarterfinals of Northern Jefferson County.

Kailyn Hanni, Silver Lake Basketball: Junior struck one of the most amazing blows to the Zumer of the season. With the tracking team, the Eagles forced the turnover and she hit a 3-chain to Kamata to give Silver Lake a 50-49 victory over Rock Creek.

Thursday, January 30

Anna Becker, Sailor Basketball: The senior scored 14 points and has six assists in the Vikings 56-15 victory over Wichita northwest in the first round of the glacier glacier tournament.

Imani McGlori, Topeka Western Basketball: Junior scored 28 points to win from over Highland Park during the first round of Capital City Classic. McGlory went 17-to-18 of the free-throw line in victory.

Hailey Schmidtlein, Hayden Basketball: The freshman scored 21 points in the team win 64-15 over El Dorado in the game of the first round of Lady Cat Classic.

Reianna Vega, Basketball Shawnee Heights: Junior scored 19 points, including a jumper to send the game B from PA Blue Valley. Vega helped Thunderbirds defeat Blue Valley 54-47 in the first round of Capital City Classic.

Maddie Vickery, Washburn Rural: The sophomor scored 21 points with 21 points in the Washburn Rural 76-25 victory over Lawrence Free State at Capital City Classic Opener.

Friday, January 31st

KK Emmot, Basketball Shawnee Heights: A sophomore guard scored 25 points in the Thunderbirds 65-32 victory over Topeka West in the Capital City City City semi-finals. Madi grag, sailor basketball: Junior made every shot he made in the semi -finals of the glacier tournament. Grag scored 27 points in the Vikings victory 70-45 above Shawnee South’s mission.

Amelia Ramsay, Basketball in Hayden: The senior scored 19 points and draws in 10 rebounds to raise Wildcats over Gardner-Edgerton 57-49 in the semifinals of El Dorado Lady Calcy Classic.

Ahsieyrhuajh Rayton, Topeka High Basketball: It was a big game for the security of the sophomore. Rayton scored 24 points to give the Trojans a 84-45 victory over Wichita northwest in the comforting semi-final of the tournament for the edge of the glacier.

Madi Wicker, Washburn’s Rural Basketball: The Kansas state commitment had 33 points in the game of Junior Blues 75-48 in the Capital City City City City.

Claire Whitemore, Rosville’s basketball: The freshman scored the highest 11 points in the victory of Buldaggs 43-32 over Jefferson County in his home tournament.

Saturday, February 1st

Anna Becker, Sailor Basketball: Observer Drake scored 21 points to raise a sailor to the title of the glacier tournament on the edge, defeating Derby 63-50. Becker’s performance over the weekend helped her become a goal scorer in the history of sailors.

Pearmella Carter, Highland Park Basketball: Carter scored 18 points to give Highland Park a 60-39 win over Lawrence Free State in the game in seventh place at Capital City Classic.

KK Emmot, Basketball Shawnee Heights: Sophomor wishes to Thunderbirds to the Capital City Classic title by defeating Washburn Peult 59-54. She scored 36 points as it helped delete a 16 -point deficit to take the championship.

Teairra Gonzales, Topeka West Basketball: Gonzalez scored 14 points as she led Topeka West to a 58-53 victory over Lawerence High to finish third in Capital City Classic.

Keimara Marshall, Topeka High Basketball: Marshall scored 15 points to help the Trojans ask for fifth place in the glacier tournament. Topeka High won the 51-45 victory over Wichita South.

Isabel Reyes, Fighting by Shawney Heights: Reyes won the 130-pound Division for Junction City’s invitation with three straight pins. Reyes also holds a record of the season of 29-1. Rayes helped Shawnee Heights win the team title with 49.5 points.

Ashley Schwartz, Rural Wrestling in Washburn: Schwartz won the 155-pound division in his home tournament. She went with 4-0 with all the victories coming through the PIN, as she picked up a record of the season of 25-5. She helped Junior Blues win the team championship with 61.5 points over Manhattan.
