A man suspected of shooting at Campbell Home: cops – patch

Campbell, California – Campbell’s police arrested a man suspected of firing at an occupied residence on Sunday morning.

Employees who responded to a report on disturbance and firearms in the 200 union Avenue block around 4:53 Sundays have determined that a firearm was discharged in an occupied residence, police said. According to police, no one was hit and there were no injuries.

Initially, the employees failed to make contact with the suspects and the abundance of caution, the surrounding residences were evacuated, police said in a news message.

The employees called the SWAT department and the crisis negotiation team, and the sheriff of Santa Clara County provided support by managing the Union Avenue movement control between Michael Drive and Avenue Avenue, according to police.

The suspect left his home at about 10:15 am and was removed without further incidents, police said. The officers are believed to have restored an unregistered semi -automatic pistol at the accident.

The 33 -year -old Jose Hurtado of Campbell was arrested and booked at the Chief Prison of Santa Clara on suspicion of a crime holding a firearm, firing in an occupied home and possessing a firearm that was not registered.

Police said Hurtado has been convicted a criminal with suspected previous crimes, including a spectacular theft, criminal threats and negligent release from firearms.

“I am incredibly proud of our employees of their unwavering dedication to keep our community safe,” says Campbell police chief Gary Berg in a statement. “Their professionalism, patience and tactical expertise have ensured a quiet resolution of a dangerous situation. This incident serves as a reminder of the risks that our employees face and their commitment to protect the residents of Campbell.”
