The four -star OT Sam Greer is experiencing a strong connection with FSU coaches after a visit – rivals.com – Florida State

The prospect of four-star offensives Sam Greer may have traveled further than anyone to attend the FSU Junior Day event on Saturday. He made the hike from Arkon, Ohio, to Talahassi to check the Seminoles football program and get better at the head coach Mike Norvel and the coach of the offensive line Herb Hend.

And on the basis of what he said to Oseola after his visit, this trip to Florida may not be his last.

“It was great for me to get off here and finally to see the place, meet with the coaching staff and see what they have for the next season,” Greer began with his FSU experience.

Greer was offered by FSU in early January, and his trip to FSU was part of a trip to Sunshine, which also included an unofficial visit to Florida before arriving in Talahassi.

The bigger part of Greer’s communication with the FSU is with an assistant coach of the Seminoles Cooper Williams offensive line, who had offered the rising senior while an analyst in Missouri last year. However, on Saturday he got his first chance to spend time with the new FSU Herb Hand offensive line.

“I just met the coach’s hand today,” Greer explained. “His summary is second. He is a great man, a family man. Love your energy. You know he will carry it every day.”

He also talks about why he decided to visit schools so far from home and if the Southern School will get serious attention from it, despite the fact that there are numerous offers from large colleges superpowers closer to the home.

“That’s why I’m here right now,” Greer said. “Really just to see my options, to see what I have,” Greer explained. “I have a good relationship with Florida and now I’m building a good with FSU.”

Greer’s visit went so well with the Seminols that he has a reference to return to FSU in March or April to watch the team during spring practice.

“The big thing for me is just to see the coaches of the coaches, look what will happen,” Greer said. “They have finished eight (offensive liners) this year, so they have a great demand for the offensive line.”

Greer also got a little time with Norvel.

“It was my second meeting with him, high energy. He will always have so high energy, so it was cool to meet him,” Greer said. “He’s real. The coaches here are real.”

In addition to making a second trip later this spring to visit FSU again, Greer also has unofficial visits planned in Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Ohio and Michigan.
