Washington, Colombia County, announces plans to celebrate the 250th birthday in 2026 – Travelpulse

In 2026, the United States will mark their 250th
Birthday from the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia in 1776.

Washington, Colombia County, will serve as a central scene for America’s grand celebration with its international symbols of independence, rich history and local culture.

Along with the growing list of more than 70 participating organizations, Destination DC has announced plans for year -round celebration 2026 on the National Mall and in all cultural institutions, museums, attractions, restaurants and hotels.

“As an organization for economic development, our work is to increase our visit to Washington, Colombia County to take advantage of residents and local businesses,” says Elliot L. Ferguson, II, President and CEO, Destination DC.

He added: “The collective power of the partners who work together will attract visitors throughout the year. No other city offers so many cultural experiences, many of them free. Visitors and residents can find American history and appreciate the local DC cultural identity in museums, theaters, public art institutions, restaurants, hotels, exciting sports and special events and more. ”

Muriel Bowser, Washington, Mayor of Colombia, said: “Washington, Colombia County is the front door of America and we look forward to hosting the largest and best semi-frequent holiday in the country. We know that there is no place in the world to tell the story of America better than Washington, Colombia County. So, our message to fellow Americans is this: Start planning your trips to DC now – we can’t wait to celebrate with you. “

July 4, 2026 will offer fireworks, a grand parade, a two -day holiday on Avenue Pennsylvania and a monthly festival in the National Mall.

The calendar for the year is crowded with other seasonal activities and festivals that include:
