High school

In the hockey of the Trenton High School on Saturday …

  • Hankok lost to Bay City 4-1. Andrew Kachmartic of the wolves had a hat trick plus an assist. Bay City goalkeeper Nash Leonard made 47 saves.
  • Kalumet fell 6-4 in Plymouth. Copper kings are ahead of Wildcats 30-21. Plymouth built an early lead with two goals from the first period. The results of Liam Damray and Nat La in the second period tied the race. Brady Bobberg gave a brief lead to kings at the beginning of the third period, but Plymouth again made the game 72 seconds later, then quickly restored the lead. The NMU men’s team exceeded Davenport 86-57. Julien Smith scored 20, as coach Matt Mikezak scored his 100th win with Wildcats.

Hockey college

The Michigan Tech hockey team had this weekend.

Northern Michigan lags behind early and lost 5-2 to Bowling Green on Saturday. Tanner Latsch and Rasmus Larsson scored for Wildcats.

Big Lakes Hockey League

Calumet Wolverines exposed Fond du Lac Bears 9-5 in the Colosseum on Saturday. Matt Yeo scored twice for the wolves, and Matt Rainanne received the web victory in his first GLHL game.
