Nevada Science Bowl is back, displaying the top talent of Stem – News3lv

Nevada Science Bowl returned on Saturday, celebrating its 34th year of celebrating students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The competition was attended by 118 students from 20 regional high schools, everyone is fighting for the highest award of $ 5,000 and a chance to move to the National Cup of the Ministry of Energy in Washington, Colombia, scheduled for April 24-28.

The event began at 7:30 am at the North Campus College in North Las Vegas in South Nevada.

Betty Huck is the Field Service Manager in Nevada for the National Nuclear Security Administration.

She says: “The Ministry of Energy Sponsored Scientific Cup is where we get the best and brightest students to come and compete against each other. As an engineer, Stem helps to solve problems, create critical thinking and future leaders. ”

Students competed in a quick format of questions and answers over 12 rounds, with the Grand Prize message set for later this afternoon.

The first 12 teams received cash awards for the mathematical and scientific departments of their school.

More than 15,000 students across the country are competing annually for the opportunity to present their schools in the National Cup of the US Department of Energy, recognized as the largest and most prestigious scientific competition in the country.

The NEVADA 2025 Scientific Cup is sponsored by the US National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Administration Nevada, Mission Maintenance and Test Services LLC and Environmental Environment Programs.
