Virginia Beach – AAA 19 million Americans’ projects will go to ocean cruises this year, which is a 4.5% increase over 2024, when 18.2 million Americans have gone to cruise vacations.

It is expected 2025 to be the third consecutive year of the volume of record cruise passengers. The cruise industry has restored post-canmics more than other travel segments, and the growth of demand for a cruise has exceeded the growth of hotel demand in the last two years, the statement said.

“What we are witnessing in the cruise industry is nothing amazing, but no surprise,” said Stacey Barber, Vice President of Aaa Travel. “There is a reason for most passengers to become repetitive cruisers for the first time. Cruise vacations offer something for everyone, regardless of their age. And since the greater part of the vacation has already been paid, passengers can focus on their enjoyment and make memories throughout life with loved ones. “

The cruise industry, which was affected more severely than other pandemic travel segments in 2020, has undergone a remarkable bounce.

In 2022, the volume of a cruise recovered to 84% of the level of 2019, after which it rose to a new peak in 2023, nearly 20% above the baseline before the pandemic.

This number has continued to climb since then, with 2025 expected to exceed 2019 by 34%, according to AAA.

Looking for sun

Most Americans who go to cruises this year are looking for sun entertainment, according to AAA, with 72% of the passengers of an American cruise head to the Caribbean, making it far the most popular destination.

The dominance of the Caribbean this year is on an equal footing with its pandemic numbers in 2018 and 2019, the statement said.

The share of the Caribbean decreased to 68% in 2022-23, when cruises to Alaska and the Mediterranean jumped, but the destinations returned to the pre-stranger norms in the last year.

Last Caribbean cruises are growing in popularity. Although most cruise routes are six to eight days, 18% of the Caribbean cruise this year is two to five days, compared to only 2% in 2023, AAA said.
