Tre Johnson and Tramon Mark scored 18 points to lead a balanced effort to score and Texas withdrew in the second half to release the LSU 89-58 on Saturday in Batton Rouge, LA. Kadin Shedrick added 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Arthur Kaluma scored 10 for Longhorns (15-7, 4-5 Sec), which had an advantage of 58-33 in the second half and never gave up the game. Jordan Sears scored 13 to lead the “tigers” (12-9, 1-7), which fired 13.3 percent (2 out of 15) to 3 indicators. The LSU bench surpassed the starters of the 37-21 team, but could not be up to date with Texas, which fired 56.3 percent of the floor and 47.6 percent (10 out of 21) to 3-tellers. The tigers closed within three points of 3-indicated by Victor Miller, but Johnson and Kaluma made a 3-indicator, and Texas expanded the lead to 24-15. Sears and Mike Williams III made a jumper and arrangement to help LSU get into three points again. A master made a 3-indicator, and Jason Kent struck a jumper before Williams did the only point for each team in the last four minutes, leaving Longhorns with 31-25 leads of halftime. -Fole at the field level
