Cox talks about the competition by boat “hell” – the Jewish chronicle

Zoey de Toledo fell into tears after seeing her chances of leading Oxford to victory in the boat race, torn apart after a bizarre turn of events.
What was to be one of the greatest days of her life became a nightmare when the drama unfolds.

With the team, which is well placed for victory, 24-year-old de Toledo was forced to quickly navigate the Oxford boat away from Trenton Oldfield, who jumped into the Thames. The anti-tellation campaign, which escaped unharmed, was later charged with a crime of public order.

When the race was restarted, Oxford’s chances were another blow when Hano Viennesen suffered a broken blade after colliding with Cambridge’s crew.

De Toledo, appealing the referee John Gareth to start the race again, but they were rejected when Gareth thought Oxford was guilty of the collision and ignored his previous warnings.

Oxford gave up at home four and quarter-length behind his rivals, and De Toledo could only look helplessly as a crew member Dr. Alexander Woods, the bow in the Oxford boat collapsed due to exhaustion. He was later released from a hospital.

“We are devastated that we have not been given the opportunity to understand what we are able to achieve in the second half of the race and many of us will never have this opportunity again,” said Uncomfortable de Toledo.

“In the end, it’s just a tragedy that no crew had the opportunity to show its best ability throughout Putni’s course to Mortlake.

“Seeing how the boys attacked the race in the last five minutes was both one of the oldest, but also one of the greatest moments of my life.”

A Henley -based student believes that she has learned a lot from the experience of 12 months after leading the ISIS boat to win in the reserve race.

“I really learned what it is like to be part of a team, a team that gathers around you when you are the most.

“We are all extremely proud of the competition as an event and we accept as quirky events like those that happen. It’s a sport.”
