Stingrays bounces with a win in Norfolk – Live 5 News WCSC

Norfolk, Virginia. -Thanks to two big goals for the third period, Stingrays secured 4-3 win over Norfolk’s admirals on Saturday night. Charlie Combs, Josh Wilkins, Eric Midenorf and Ryan Hofer scored for Stingrays as goalkeeper Garin Bjorklund stopped 23 of the 26 shots in the victory.

Stingrays first boarded the board, 7:56 in the game. Justin Nachbaur gathered the washer in the center of ice and scattered combs of a breakthrough. Combs beat Norfolk Netminder Thomas Milic Blocker Side for his third goal in four games to give a 1-0 lead to South Carolina.

Wilkins made 2-0 stingrays 11:29 in the second period. Midentorf fired a quick shot on the right, which Milich drove out, but Wilkins supported a rebound at the back of the net for his twelfth goal of the season.

Sean Montgomery gathered a Power Game for Norfolk 1:16 later, and Brady Fleenent added another goal for Admirals 3:17 in the third period to tie the game in two.

South Carolina pulled away at 11:47 in the third period when Midenorf buried his 16th goal of the year. Andrew Perot headed for the left wing and sampled a pass to the back door to Midenorf, which restored the rear of Stingray.

Perot also participated in the fourth goal of South Carolina. Millic stopped slap from Perot, and Ben Howers were also stopped at the bounce, but Hofer deposited the free washer on the open net to make 4-2 South Carolina.

Dennis Smirnov scored seven seconds to make 4-3, but this result took place, and Stingrays provided a split in the series over the weekend against Admiles.

The next South Carolina match is on Tuesday night in Orlando against the solar bears. The washer drop was set at 7:00 pm in the center of Kia on February 4th.
