Las vegas, a low-pressure NV system near the Pacific northwest, spends moisture in northern and central California, leading to windy conditions through the western desert of the Mohava and the Sierra region, according to the Las Vegas National Meteorological Service.

Windy conditions are expected to expand early next week, with the gusts of winds affecting the 395 highway in the Owens Valley. Light rainfall can spill into the Owens Valley, although most moisture will remain in Sierra. It is expected to accumulate only over 9,500 feet.

Recruitment is predicted for Sunday and Monday, but another atmospheric river can bring a 20-40% chance of rainfall in Inio County and the southern large pool in the middle of the week. Las Vegas, Clark County and San Bernardino County are unlikely to see measurable rainfall.
