A man was shot dead to the death of an inter -state 59 outside the ramp on Saturday afternoon, and police in Birmingham caught suspects within two hours.

The investigation began around 2:00 pm when the officers of the northern region of the city were sent in a report per person shot on the ramp south I-59 on 31st North Outlet Street.

Officers arrived to find the victim unanswered, and firefighters declared him dead at the scene.

Policeman Truman Fitzgerald said the preliminary investigation shows that the victim and the suspect were involved in a small crash in the out-of-frame. They went into a dispute and suspected that he had fired the victim, police said.

The suspect escaped, but was quickly identified and removed by the special police department.

At least part of the argument was filmed on a video for observation from a nearby gas station.

Fitzgerald said the suspect was subjected to detectives.

Investigators will present the evidence to the District Prosecutor’s Office of Jefferson County to determine if accusations will be filed, he said.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim or suspects.

The murder is the 11th of Birmingham so far in 2025, and the third after less than 24 hours.

A 22-year-old man was shot dead by midnight in Enli, and an 18-year-old student in Birmingham city schools was killed about 20 minutes later on Saturday in North Birmingham.

There are 16 murders across Jefferson County this year, including 11 in Birmingham.
