Immediate Summary: Oklahoma State turns in the season of everyone, falls in West Virginia 54-37 on the road-pistols shooting

A pair of top 25 teams with Big 12 Aspirations gave up at Morgantown on Saturday. OSU came third in the league on points, and WVU came second in the defense. Something had to give. Unfortunately, these were the cowboys.

No. 23 Oklahoma fell to 21 West Virginia 54-37 in an atypical trip to the cowbars everywhere.

The climbers came to the leadership of the big 12 in thefts, forced turnover and a margin of turnover, and this set of skills worried the cowels throughout the game.

It was a chaotic first quarter for both teams that ended with 10-6 West Virginia. Cowgirls fired only 25% of 30% of mountaineers in the first period and each team had nine turnover. The caubirs seemed worried about these distributions and rarely managed to get into their insult. Cowgirls went to the middle of the first period to the middle of the second. Only Alexia Smith, Stali heard and Jadin Woutine scored before the break.

Although both teams struggled to shoot the ball early, the mountaineers slowly pulled away until they took advantage of a lively crowd and inertia. 6-0 West Virginia is held at the end of the second quarter built a lead of 23-12. They led 23-14 at halftime. The cowels remained at a striking distance in the biggest part of the first three quarters, but the mountaineers had momentum, the wicked hands and had a sinewy, scandalous charge for charging.

With Cowgirls, in a desperate need for a spark, Michai Gray seemed ready to secure the first five points of OSU from the second half after he went to the first. But it would only end with seven. Hurd knocked down a rare open 3-indicated four-minute to enter the third to pull within eight, but Jordan Harrison of WVU followed him with a quick arrangement of the crowd the next time.

The climbers built their largest lead at 43-31 at the beginning of the fourth quarter and expanded it to 15 before Cowgirls showed a sign of life late.

Oklahoma State gathered a 6-0 run to download within 46-37, but in the microcosm of the game as a whole, WVU shook a pair of quick layouts sewn together with theft. This starts 8-0 to leave the game. OSU showed that a little burst of battle late, but West Virginia moved to a perfect 12-0 home.

Western Virginia had only two double -digit goalscorers, but that was enough. Sydney Shaw led all the goal scorers with 18, including three 3S made, and Ja’naiya Quinerly added 15 and eight career thefts.

Smith was the only rubber in double-digit with 15, including to go 9-9 from the free throw line, but she lifted her fourth foul at the beginning of the fourth, which limited her time in the final frame. Hurd was held only seven points at the firing of 3-from 9, her lowest after the seven, which he scored in OSU’s Big 12 Opener against Iowa.

Oklahoma State, which came on average more than 80 points per game and shoots nearly 48% of the pitch, was detained until a low -seasons season of 14 points in the first half and single -digit in three separate fourths. 37 scored points on Cowgirls and 21% firing were both low levels. As was the presentation of 2-23 Cowgirls behind the arc at 9%.

OSU came an average of 14.7 rpm, but there were 21, which led to 17 points on WVU. The climbers had 20, which led to 14 OSU points, but they had a better crime, a better night night (40% and 24% of 3) and better protection. Add the internal inertia and the crowd of Wvu Coliseum fuel and that was too much for Cowgirls.

With the loss, the cowboys fall to 18-4 and 8-3 in the conference. They will then return home to try to bounce against Wildcats. The Oklahoma state hosts No. 11 Kansas State 14:00 next Saturday at the Gallagher-Bi Arena. Wildcats are 8-1 in the Big 12 Play, but will be at least rested, as they still have to face Kansas on the road on Sunday and host TCU on Wednesday (with which they are currently tied to the top of League ranking) before heading to Stillwater.
