Arrest warrant issued for NY DOCTOR who prescribed abortion pills – patch

New York – An arrest warrant has been issued in New York, charged Friday by a large jury in Louisiana on charges of prescribing abortion pills online by a pregnant minor in the state.

The patient’s mother, who was also accused, has already surrendered to authorities, District Prosecutor Tony Clayton told the Associated Press.

Major jurors in the District Court of West Baton Rouge parish have issued the indictment against Olter Margaret Carpenter, accusing her of criminal abortion with the help of drugs causing abortion.

Officials in New York reacted quickly to condemn the jury’s great jury and promised to protect all and all doctors in New York who legally provide medical care, including abortion care.

“Earlier today, Louisiana was accused of a New York doctor for using telemedicine to prescribe patients to abortion to a patient,” said the government, Katie Hochul in a statement on Friday. “Exactly: a doctor is pursued to provide basic health care to his patient.”

The senior law enforcement officer in New York described the decision of the Louisiana prosecutor’s office to chase strict accusations.

“Care for abortion is healthcare. Criminalization of abortion care is a direct and brazen attack on the bodily autonomy of Americans and their right to reproductive freedom,” New York General James said in a fiery statement. “This cowardly attempt by Louisiana to arm the law against suppliers outside the state is unfair and non -American. We will not allow bad participants to undermine our suppliers’ ability to provide critical care. Abortions of drugs are safe, effective and necessary and New York will guarantee,, that it remains available to all Americans who need it.

According to the AP, the case has seemed to be the first time criminal charges have been prosecuted against a doctor accused of sending abortion pills to another country, as the US Supreme Court overturned Rowe against Wade in 2022.

Carpenter was tried by Texas General Prosecutor in December in such circumstances to send pills to this country. This case does not include criminal charges.

Governor Hochul said that while the news from Louisiana is a pity, she is not completely unforeseen.

“When Row was canceled, I took action to protect women and doctors in New York from other countries, trying to tear off its rights,” the governor said in a statement published on Saturday morning. “A vessel in Louisiana put our new laws of test. Let me be clear: I will fight tooth and nails to protect the freedom of reproduction.”

In the meantime, Hochul said he would block all Louisiana’s attempts to force the doctor to come to the country to be charged.

“In any circumstances, I will never transfer this doctor to Louisiana to any request for extradition,” said social media governor.
