HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Madison Mayor Paul Finley delivered his State of the City speech before Thursday’s celebration.
Finley says that with more people coming in, they’re being forced to find new ways to grow.
He says the city has added over 100 acres of recreational space — like a new community center and parks.
A new fire station and police substation are coming to the city of Madison to help first responders respond quickly to emergencies.
And there’s another critical piece the city is working to improve.
“Roads, roads, roads, there’s a lot of opportunity here to move traffic, we know people love Madison, they don’t like traffic, we’re working hard on that,” Finley said.
Finley goes on to say they are working to strengthen partnerships with surrounding cities and counties to provide revenue for new projects.
