Baton Rouge, La. (First Louisiana) – A night in Tigerland took a dangerous turn when LSU student Jack Groveti was hospitalized after being hit by Uber.

The incident revived concerns about safety in the popular nightlife area, which prompted city leaders to discuss possible students to protect students.

For many LSU Tigerland students, it has long been a place for nightlife. However, after the Griveti incident, some review its safety.

“I feel that this should never happen,” said LSU Skylar Dixon student.

Dixon, like many others, is now more aware of the risks.

“It has always been a fun place, but such things make you realize how fast an evening can go wrong,” she added.

The recent redistribution has set the advice of the Subway Council in East Baton Rouge Carolyn Coleman, who is responsible for the Tigerland area. She said improving safety for students and residents is a top priority.

“It’s all about being safe,” Coleman said. “There are no sidewalks in this particular area, so we’re talking about the possible sidewalk, maybe some four -way stops.”

Coleman also works with local bars to promote more favorable nightlife practices and to ensure that students are doing it safely at home.

“We want to make sure we add a little more responsibility there because our young people matter,” she stressed.

While city leaders explore long -term safety solutions, students are encouraged to care for each other and be alert.

“Everything can happen to anyone, so it’s always important to be aware of your environment,” Dixon said.

While discussions continue, both students and city authorities hope to find solutions that will make Tigerland a more fascinating place for everyone.
