A Reno elementary school was placed on lockdown Thursday after a man in a nearby house cut off his ankle monitoring bracelet and ran away.
Cameron Forbes is considered a fugitive. He is on probation for concealed carry of an explosive substance, an air pistol and a firearm. He was also in a court diversion program for felony charges.
Nevada State Police attempted to make contact with Forbes at a home near Veterans Memorial Elementary School on Locust Street in Reno, but he fled.
The school was placed on lockdown for a short time, according to the Washoe County School District.
Forbes is not believed to be armed, but police said he should not be approached.
