Renault Gareth Hampson’s senior graduate has signed a minor league contract with Arizona Diamondbacks with an invitation for spring training, a source told Mike Stefanson of NSN. This move can pave the way for him to play for Reno Aces this season.

Hampson is a 2013 graduate of Renault High, where he was prepared by the high school by nationals in Washington. He decided to play a Ball at the college at Long Beach State before it was a selection of the third round of Colorado rocky rocks in 2016.

Hampson made his big league debut two years later in 2018 and played the last seven seasons in the specialties with three teams. Hampson spent the whole last season at the big league level with Kansas City Royals, hitting .230/.275/.300 in 213 participations in the plate over 113 games.

Hampson also played for the rocky (2018-22) and Miami Marlins (2023). He received a large league deal with Kansas City last season, but will start this year with a secondary league contract, which means he will not be on the list of 40 people on Diamondbacks, the need to be called to the big leagues. The 30-year-old will probably start the season at the Triple-A Reno, who has banned a strong spring workout to run his way to a large league list.

The best season of Hampson came in 2023 with Miami when he struck .276/.349/.380 in 252 participations on a slab over 98 games, composing a 1.3 war. In 630 games, Hampson published a 1.9 war. One of its strengths is protective flexibility, as Hampson played every position, but the hunter during his career in the Great League (he even put Inning, throwing an unsuccessful frame last season). Hampson played mainly a second base and a central field last season.

Brake with 64 career thefts, Hampson struck .240 in the big leagues with 29 homes and .662 Ops (72 Ops+ with Middle League E 100). The prospect of the top 100 from high school, Hampson has chosen Long Beach State over the UCLA, Nevada, Unlv and San Francisco Scholarships offers, among others. He was the freshman of the big west of the year and the freshman All-American for Dirtbags. After being prepared, he only needed 287 games in the Little League before receiving the call to the specialties.
