2 men killed in separate shootings, distance in Birmingham – al.com

Two men were killed early on Saturday at separate firing in Birmingham, which happened at a distance of minutes, but from different sides of the city.

The first shooting happened around 12:15 pm in the 1400 block on the 57th street in Enli.

The victim was found in or near a white pickup. Police marked at least half a dozen shells near the passenger door door.

The second deadly shooting happened at 12:21 in the 600 block on the eighth terrace west.

Police reported that more than two dozen shots were fired in the incident and the driver of the vehicle was shot dead.

A passenger in the vehicle tried to take control of the car and eventually crashed into the bush and the front porch of the home.

The driver was declared dead at the scene.

No further details were released on both murders.

The killings are ninth and 10th so far in Birmingham in 2025. There were eight murders in January, which is two of the same period of time in 2024.

There were 15 murders throughout the County of Jefferson, including the nine in Birmingham.
