COSTA MESA, Calif. – A 49-year-old man was charged Thursday with killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a dumpster in Costa Mesa.
Costa Mesa resident Daniel Allen Aldrich was charged with murder, with a sentencing enhancement for personal use of a knife.
Aldrich is accused of killing 38-year-old Julie Ann Sanetra of Irvine.
Police were dispatched shortly before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to the backyard of a home in the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, where Sanetra’s body was found in one of the trash cans, police said.
Aldrich was arrested Tuesday night at a family member’s house in Glendale, police said.

Aldrich did not enter a plea during his arraignment Thursday in the jail’s courtroom. His arraignment was rescheduled for November 19 at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
