Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – East Baton Rouge parish students gain confidence in their skills and enhance their results through a new teaching program.
“We believe that if a child needs a little extra help, we should help them get it,” said Louisiana State Education Chief of Education.
East Baton Rouge is only a month in a new program that helps all students study at their level at a level.
“Teachers can enter and work in small groups of no more than four students about the necessary skills to reach the level of grade,” said EBR Lamont Cole school chief. “Or we can use our partner providers in specialized programs so that they can be everyone in a program so that they can do it themselves.”
Dosage trainings for teachers have been working so far for 9,000 students participating in the program.
“What we have seen is that our students are more confident about what they are learning, so they can understand the information at the class level and then the parents exclusively appreciate the additional support that the children receive,” Cole said.
The Louisiana Ministry of Education received $ 30 million from the state to finance this program and divide it between each school system based on the number of students in need of additional assistance.
“This is a strategy that we internally plan to continue throughout the year, whether the funding is available or not, but we need funding to continue to do it at a higher level,” Cole said.
“We’re in the stream on this subject but we have a lot of work that we still have to do to get something to scale it is hard that no other condition has done this so we try to try it We do the right way and make sure that students receive the support they need, “Brulyley said.
