Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – Sheriff’s Service in East Baton Rouge arrests a man who is said to have been intoxicated when he was driving the vehicle he was driving.
Prison records show that MPs arrest Blake Heidel, a 40-year-old from Baton Rouge, on Thursday, January 30, and booked him in the parish prison in East Baton Rouge on one of the following: Automobile murder operating in a fourth crime, a crime, reckless operation of a vehicle, possession of alcohol in a vehicle and operating a vehicle while under suspension.
According to arrest records, Heidel was driving east on Hoo Shoo Too Road on Sunday, January 19, when the vehicle left the lane near Savannah Jane Lane. The vehicle crashed into a ditch, hit a plumbing and collided with a large tree.
The emergency reacting extracted Heidel and a female passenger from the vehicle. Both were taken to hospital, but the passenger died later that evening of his injuries.
According to arrest records, a sample of toxicology taken by Heidel when he arrived at the hospital, reveals a blood alcohol content of 0.357 g%. Employees who responded to the crash also noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle, as well as numerous open containers with alcohol.
During their investigation, employees learned that Heidel had three previous DUI sentences, making this fourth crime.
The records of the arrest State Heidel appeared for a probation examination less than two weeks before the crash, in which a judge allowed him to continue to probation.
