A few roads of Tallahasesee to close Sunday for the Annual City Marathon, says employees – WCTV

Tallahasee, Florida (WCTV) – Several paths to the capital will be closed on Sunday during the annual Tallahasesee Marathon to “help keep marathons safe,” in Talahasi.

The event will start at 7:30 am at the intersection of Monroe Street and Jefferson Street. It will end at 2:30 pm along Madison Street, according to a Capital City press release, shared Friday afternoon.

The Talahassi Police Department has said people need to look at the marathon route to know which parts of the city will be affected.

During half and full marathon periods there will be temporary and constant road closures. See the full list of closure at the end of this story.

TPD will coordinate traffic during the event. Drivers must succumb to runners at intersections according to the press release.

These roads will be temporarily closed on Sunday from 6am to 9:30:

  • Monroe Street from Park Appalachi to Tennessee Street
  • Eastern Pensacola Street from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • Jefferson Street from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • College Avenue from Kalhun Street to Adams Street
  • Avenue Park from Kalhun Street to Adams Street

These roads will be temporarily closed on Sunday from 7am to 9am:

  • No traffic north on the road of Thomasville from Monroe Street (7 to 9am)
  • There is no traffic south along Kalhun Street from Thomasville Road to Tennessee Street. (7 to 9 in the morning)

These roads will be temporarily closed on Sunday from 7:30 to noon:

  • Robert and Trusty Perkins Road from Famu Way to Disston Street
  • Famu Way (west) from Adams Street to Lake Bradford Road
  • Famu Way (east) from Lake Bradford Road to Gambble Street
  • Ridge Road will be closed by Springsax Road to Sunnyside Drive

These roads will be closed for the whole race on Sunday from 17 to 14:30:

  • Avenue Woodward from Gaines Street to St. Augustine ”
  • Madison Street from Avenue Woodward to Rail Avenue
