Discover Weather Oracle on State State: Bee Cave Bob – etsn.fm

Move, Punxsutawney Phil – Texas does not need a spine to tell us if spring is coming. We have our own legend, predicting atmospheric influences: Bee Cave Bob, Texas Armadillo, which makes its forecast every February 2 in Bee Cave, Texas!

While the rest of the country is waiting for some fantasy Pennsylvania Varmint to crawl from his storm, the Texas seek to Bee Cave Bob to deliver the news with a little Texas sense. The tradition, conducted just beyond Austin, has grown with popularity over the years, proving that Texas is doing things in our own way – even when it comes to predicting time!

Like Punxsutawney Phil, Bee Cave Bob gives us the classic two options:
If he does not see his shadow, we are in early spring.
❄ If you see it, get ready for another six weeks at Texas “Winter” (Which, let’s be honest, can really mean anything).

Since it’s Texas, you never know what the “winter” will look like – it can be 75 degrees one day and an ice storm the next. Either way, Bee Cave Bob adds Texas size entertainment to the annual tradition.

So, whether you are trusting in the Old Pennsylvania Earth or preferring Armadillo’s expertise at Bee Cave Bob, Day Day Day in Texas is a new meaning. If Bob predicts for another six weeks of winter, we will keep our sun screen and flip in a standby mode. If the spring comes early, well – let me shoot the smoker and get ready for a season of the courtyard!
