The NBA revealed the “reserves” for the All-Star 2025 game on Thursday night, finalizing the players’ pool for 24 people for the event by banning a injury. For the first time in the 2020, no males were selected as Luka Doncic and Kiri Irving were left. Dallas was also the only 25+ wins team so that there is no All-Star this season.
This decision came as a surprise to many, including Mark Kuban, who broadcast his dissatisfaction with the application known as Twitter. “These TV ratings for All Star will be crazy … lol … NBA Gonol NBA … just crazy onions and kai won’t go.”
Doncic’s exclusion is not too surprising given that he missed 26 of the 48 games that Dallas played this season, but still put large numbers when he plays: 28.1 ppg, 8.3 RPG and 7.8 APG. Irring, which was left, was the biggest shock as he kept Dallas sailing, despite all the injuries with 24.2 ppg, 4.9 APG and 4.6 RPG.
Kuban may no longer be a majority owner of Mavericks, but he is still a big supporter of the team as he is visible in many home matches.

The Guards at the Western Conference, selected for the All-Star Game, were Stephen Curry, Shay Gilgez-Alexander, James Harden and Anthony Edwards. Irving had better numbers than curry, but he is one of the most popular players of all time, and Curry has been declared a starter because of this voting process. SGA is the favorite to win MVP this season, and Edwards is one of the best goal scorers in the NBA this season.
The real grip is Harden, which does not even lead the clippers on points. It is an average of more assists and struggles than Irving, but Irving is a much more efficient player from the floor as Hard shoots less than 40% of the pitch (49% EFG to 56.2% on Irving). Clippers are also only 21 in an offensive evaluation, winning the most with defense.
Other arguments can be made to choose Erving before Alperin Segun and Jalen Williams, but they are in the two best teams in the West.
