Lubbock Police Department mourns loss of sergeant after battle with cancer – Fox 34

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock police sergeant has died after a battle with cancer.

The Lubbock Police Department shared the news on social media that Sergeant Kelly Pirkle had passed away on Wednesday, October 23rd.

Sergeant Pirkle has served the Lubbock community for 25 years.

“Sergeant Pirkle was a legend in the law enforcement community – helping shape many of the SWAT teams across the state and beyond,” the department said in a statement.

Funeral services have not yet been announced.
