New York jets have already made several major decisions in this extra -season.
New York immediately focused on 2025 after the regular season ended. The jets are entering a new era. The jets are difficult to work, filling the coaching staff for 2025 and then landed former Detroit Defense Coordinator Lions Aaron Glenn to be the next top coach of the team.
Glen has already held his first press conference as the head coach of the media in New York and handled it extremely well.
There are many excitement around Glenn and now his work is filling out his staff and ultimately looks at the list. Glenn gave to understand that he would not call the plays in the defense and wanted to bring a veteran with a lot of experience to do so.
Jets did just that, reporting that the former Ariz Cardinals General Coach Steve Wilks was landing to be a team coordinator, according to Tom Pelisero of NFL Network.
“Jets have agreed to deal with Steve Wilks as their protective coordinator for sources,” Pelisero said. “After getting out last season, Wilks, a longtime respected assistant and former Cardinals, is now returning as a key figure to Aaron Glenn’s new staff in New York.”
Wilks is a great rent for New York. He quickly jumped out as the rumors of the team were the best goal and they received it. He began training at the NFL level in 2006 as a coach of the protective back with Chicago bears. Since then, he has been making stops with various NFL teams, including the then charging Diego, Carolina Panthers, Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49rs, and now The Jets.
He was the chief coach of the Cardinals in 2018 and the temporary Panther chief coach in the 2022 season. Throughout his career, he has been a defensive coordinator of Browns, 49ers, and now Jets at the NFL level.
The reason why this is the right course is due to the fact that he obviously has a lot of experience. His Last Stint As a Defensive Coordinator at the NFL Level With San Francisco in 202 per game with just 17.5.
If the jets could play that way in 2025, it would be quite nice.
