FDA recall Lay’s Potato chips, originally issued in December, have been upgraded by the agency to their highest level of risk.
Three things to know
- The initial withdrawal was issued in mid -December, with over 6,000 13 ounces bags. Classic chips bags removed from shelves in Washington and Oregon.
- The identified problem ingredient is “undeclared milk”, which is a risk to those with severe sensitivity or allergies.
- On January 27, the FDA upheld the withdrawal to Class I, their most severe, which means that “the use or exposure to a violating product will lead to serious adverse effects on health or death”, according to their website.
