Passenger jet and Black Hawk helicopter confronted in the middle Wednesday and crashed into the Potomak River near the Reagan National Airport near Washington, President of Colombia Trump County confirmed Thursday that there were no survivors. Many victims have not yet been publicly identified.

What do we know about the search operation
DC Fire and EMS chief John Donoli told reporters at a news briefing on Thursday morning that 27 bodies and one from the helicopter had been restored from the plane.
He said, “We do not believe there are survivors,” adding that the efforts of the place have gone from rescue operation to recovery surgery.
“This is an extremely complicated operation, the conditions there are extremely rough for the respondents. It’s cold. They are dealing with the relatively windy conditions,” Donelli said.

Senior Transport of CBS News and national correspondent Chris Van Clive reported that human remains and debris were washed on the side of Virginia on the Potomak River.
He said the plane had invaded many pieces that were sitting 5-8 feet of water.
The flight recorder and the voice recorder of the cockpit, usually known as black boxes, have been restored from the crashed aircraft, NTSB confirmed. They will be analyzed in the NTSB laboratory, which is located about a mile from the site of the crash.
Divers had some access to the airplane cab. Luggage is among the items that divers have recovered.
The helicopter is upside down, but it looks mostly intact, added Van Clay.

Another victim in the crash, Asra Hussein Raza, recently moved to Washington, Colombia, for a consulting position and was traveling home from a work trip when the collision happened, her father -in -law Hashim Raza told CBS News. The 26-year-old is a graduate of the University of Indiana and the University of Colombia, her father-in-law said.
Four members of Maryland -based Labor Union, Steamfitters United Association Local 602, were also in the flight, Union leaders said in a social media publication on Thursday. The Union is heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and process pipelines in the DC subway area.
The head of the helicopter crew was identified as 29-year-old Ryan O’Hara, CBS News learned on Thursday. O’Hara was the husband and father of a 1-year-old son, said the Local Officers Training Program in Social Media Reserves about his death.
Politicians respond to the crash
President Trump turned to the crash During a White House briefing on Thursday morning, where he confirmed that there were no survivors.
“I talk to you this morning after an hour of grief for our nation,” said Mr. Trump.
He also criticizes the Biden administration and attacks diversity initiatives, but does not offer any evidence connecting the former president’s policies to the crash.
