Birmingham urban sign experienced Australian international ace van Egmond – OneFootball – English

Birmingham City has completed the signing of Australian international midfielder Emily van Egmond in a two -and -a -half deal.

The full -time WSL was informed of the news by an official announcement of the club press from the blues tonight.

The 31-year-old joins Birmingham City from the back of a short spell at the American National Football League (NWSL) with Wave San Diego. Van Egmond made 26 NWSL performances for Wave, in which she scored one goal.

The midfielder enjoys a long career that has seen her represent 13 different clubs. Van Egmond has played his football in Australia, Denmark, USA, Germany and England. Her previous spell in the English game came with West Ham United in 2020 and 2021.

On the international scene, Van Egmond is restricted to Australia 153 times while she has scored 31 goals for her country.

After joining Birmingham City, Van Egmond said, “I’m happy to be here. I can’t wait to start. When Birmingham came to me, I liked the ambition.

“At the moment they are on top of the table, they want to be promoted, and I just thought what the opportunity to come to a great club and to be part of something exciting.”

Van Egmond is the second signature of the deadline for transfer in Birmingham City.
