TALASSSEE, Florida (WCTV) – Florida State University officially finalizes the agreement to buy the regal governor Square Mall and reopen its doors as part of the University Film School, according to a FSU press release on Thursday.
The property is expected to serve as the College of Florida Cinema Celection, writes in his statement in his statement. The new facility is scheduled to have the Florida Cinematographic Innovation Center, known as Torchlight Studios, according to the university, which moves it from Midway to the capital.
In addition, the property will improve “FSU production facilities and support its commitment to innovation, providing a main space for virtual production, production design and a new entrepreneurial program for feature films, in addition to screening capabilities,” the press release reports.

The Dean of the College of Cinema Source, Reb Brak, said he hoped the facility would become a new partner in all things, cinematic for the Talahassi community.
“Our dream is to see this not as a loss of another movie theater, but as an exciting opportunity for a movie school and the community to gather to celebrate our shared love for movies,” Brak said.
The news comes after the theater located on the Governor of Governor 1501, closed in early December.
