A 26-story twin tower project is planned for Rossland Road in Ajax, according to a city notice.
The 548-unit apartment building named after Rossland Apartment Complexwill be located at 154 Rossland Road East. It will have one- and three-room apartments.
For the building to appear, a formal plan amendment and zoning bylaw amendment were required, for which a statutory public meeting was to be held on October 21.
The City said the purpose of the OPA24-A11 Official Plan Amendment Application and proposed implementing bylaw is to rezone the lands from the Prestige Employment to the High Density Residential designation and to establish area-specific Policy 6.40 for the lands concerned , to allow a maximum height of 26 storeys and a maximum density of 690 units per net hectare.
The purpose of the application to amend Zoning By-law Z15/24 and the proposed implementing by-law is to rezone the lands from the Prestige Employment (PE) Zone to a Multiple Four Residential (RM4) zone with a site-specific exception (Exemption 226), to create development standards to implement the proposed residential development of the subject lands.
Proposed implementing bylaws are submitted pursuant to section 284.11.1 of Law on municipalities and in accordance with Ontario Regulation 580/22, “Provincial Priorities,” the city said.
