With construction on the VAI resort moving forward, the city of Glendale is poised to consider a new master plan for a $1 billion hospitality and entertainment development in its sports and entertainment district.
At its Oct. 24 meeting, the Glendale Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to vote on rezoning nearly 70 acres of resort property, as well as amending the master plan for 10 acres of the site.
The new zoning will replace the area’s previously approved planned development called Centerpoint, which was approved in 2020 when the project was first proposed as Crystal Lagoons Island Resort. It will include additional land that was not previously part of the planned development of the Centerpoint area.
